Home of the Rescued Animals (Lviv, Ukraine)
On April 29, 2022, our “Draw & Care” project volunteers visited the Lviv Shelter “Home of the Rescued Animals” located at Dovbusha str. 24.
The shelter has been actively saving Ukrainian animals for many years, with dozens of animals needing constant care and being evacuated every day, many from war zones. Thus, financial and physical support from thoughtful people like you is crucial, and we couldn’t stay away.
We purchased, transported, and provided the shelter with several necessities, including:
1. 100 pairs of work gloves for volunteers,
2. 10 20-liter buckets,
3. 5 60-liter basins,
4. 10 bowls for feed,
5. garbage bags for large volumes,
7. parrot food,
8. 30 kg of salt for animals,
9. 200 packs of wet cat food,
10. and fruits.
Aid amount: approx. $165 USD (₴6,000 UAH)
We also learned of more of the shelter’s needs, which we’ll take into account for further assistance. Expect our next reports soon!
Our volunteers had the chance to spend time with the shelter’s four-legged inhabitants. They walked the dogs, played with them, and had fun. We met several cute dogs, including a charming lady with dark wool (see photos below) and the warlike beauty named Javelina who showed a wayward character, choosing her own walking route and poses for photos. Each animal has a unique life story, and it’s amazing!
The “Home for Saved Animals” doesn’t only house dogs, but also cats, birds, raccoons, sheep, horses, and other domestic and wild animals.
This was a great start for our project, and there will only be more shelters we can help! We continue to do good deeds, helping our smaller brothers.
